Idaho continues to be one of the few states leading in job growth!
Idaho continues its pace as the third fastest growing job market in the country by percentage rate. Within Idaho, Coeur d'Alene and the North Idaho region are the fastest growing job markets.
In a February 2019 study conducted by the Employment State Monitor only 11 states outpaced the national employment rate of 1.7% from the previous year.
The strongest job growth by states were:
Nevada (3.5%)
Utah (2.8%)
Idaho (2.7)
Arizona (2.7%)
Wyoming (2.0%)
South Dakota (2.0%)
Florida (2.3%)
Georgia (2.2%)
Texas (2.2%)
West Virginia (2.2)
Tennessee (2.0%)
Only Minnesota and Rhode Island failed to add jobs.
The report goes on to explain that there were 29 states where the pace of job growth slowed and dipped below the national average, including California, Oregon, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and the District of Columbia.
Most notable was California, which saw its job growth dip below the national average for the first time since 2012:
The report stated that, "Job and wage growth are the economic drivers of housing demand."
While this is true as a whole in the national real estate market, our experience at the Martinelli Realty Team is that North Idaho's driving force in housing demand, more than economics, is Conservative Culture.
People coming to North Idaho are seeking Conservative Culture first, and the job and wage growth is an added perk!
Economic gains...just one reason you can "Live Better in North Idaho!"
