Idaho is up to its ankles in people!
The US Census just announced that Idaho and Nevada tied for the fastest growing states (by percentage rate) in the US for 2018…and this is after Idaho took the top spot in 2017.
“Fastest growing state…two years in a row?” you say, “That place is going to be drowning in people!”
But just how close is Idaho to drowning in people?
Even as the 4th or 5th fastest growing state over the last 30 years, Idaho is still the 6th least populated state in the country.
When compared to the other 49 states, Idaho is in the shallow end of the pool… barely up to its ankles in people!

Furthermore (from our biased North Idaho perspective), we point out that most of the people moving into Idaho are "flooding" Southern Idaho!
Case-in-point: the Boise area has 4 times more people per square mile than the Coeur d'Alene area.
